I’m a big believer in thinking big and making big moves. In fact, I share several of those stories in my book 52 Lessons I Learned from Jim Rohn and Other Great Legends I Promoted!

But here is a powerful quote I shared this morning in my Facebook feed:

As my mentor and biz partner Jim Rohn would say, “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced everyday.”

We also discussed how to be an entrepreneur and bootstrap a new business for millennials.

Here were some key ideas I shared:

Success is predictable. Just like planting a garden, if you sow the right seeds you will get a harvest.

It’s going to take time if you want to create something of value. Just like a vineyard making a fine wine, it will take time.

Focus on quality. If you take shortcuts, in the long run, it will cost you and take you longer. Starting over is a HUGE waste of time and effort. Do it right to begin with.

Learning to sell and market is a must. But equally, if not more importantly, is making sure you deliver what you are promising.

Focus on principle-based marketing—having a great product, having great service, and being relational.

Build a referral-based business. Converting cold traffic into a sale is difficult and often leads to refunds. The best customers and advocates are born out of relationships. Make sure you are not just churning through people.

Use technology to your benefit, but never let a good tactic violate a principle.

Its okay, in fact I recommend, that you have a job or a source of income that supports you while you are creating your side hustle. This allows you to not only do things the right way and think long-term, but also to test small along the way.

And finally….. If you keep doing the right things for a long enough period of time, good things are guaranteed to happen.
