There is so much technology available right now in the marketplace that can be great assets and tools for our businesses.
Before the internet it was just harder, it was harder to go to market, it was more expensive. With technology, now it’s possible for everyone to have an incredible website that is strategically designed. We’ve got SEO, blogs and social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. Email lists can be built at virtually no cost, all kinds of opportunities to connect with people via social media are possible and there are all kinds of viral marketing tools. We have access to all kinds of virtual assistants, and the prices are so low for services it’s incredible what you can have done.
Now I’ve got a little side note: Those of you who know me know I’m not a technology guy, I’m a marketing guy. But once you know marketing then you can either handle the technology yourself or you can pay someone to do it. Just don’t pay someone to do the marketing! You’ve got to understand what the marketing is so you can give the directives of what needs to be done but you don’t necessarily have to be the one doing it yourself. So let technology work for you (and there are so many ways you can do that) but handle, baby and obsess over the marketing. So while technology is important, marketing is truly the one thing that can—and will—make the most difference!
