Formula for a Breakthough in Sharing Your Unique Message

Just came out of an intense weekend and I wanted to share a powerful formula that will help you not only experience a breakthrough but also that will open the doors of clarity and action.

For context, we were having our first live meeting for the Kyle Wilson 2017 Mentoring Group, which is a full year and contains 12 monthly calls and 4 live meetings. I had set the stage previously in January and February with live calls. Now the 2 day live meeting.

The AMBITIOUS plan for the year is 3 fold:

Create your book and or product and or online course

Create your audience and list

Build your speaking and or coaching platform

That’s a lot to tackle all in one program in one year, but I believe we can Alchemist!

Just like when I launched Jim Rohn Int and took Jim from 20 dates at 4k a year to 110 dates at 10k the first year, and created the product that built our audience (started with the excerpt booklet that went on to sell over 6 million copies) and eventually I built the 1 million plus list through all my companies… plus similar stories when I brought on Chris Widener, Ron White and others…that all 3 areas work hand and hand. Alchemy is possible when you are thinking Big and putting in all the right ingredients.

For this 2 day live meeting the focus was your book or product. Future meeting and calls would be on a different core theme. The room consisted of some very high-end trainers, speakers, professionals and entrepreneurs.

There was anything but consensus and clarity among the group. People were all over the place on what they wanted from these 2 days and for the year.

I had stated early on Im not a cookie cutter guy. Ever speaker and author I’ve ever worked and collaborated with we created a unique and different strategic plan. So that was the biggest challenge for the 2 days. How to take a diverse group and help everyone find their unique plan and get clarity so they can then take action on the weekends main topic.

Breakthrough Formula I Used

1. You must find and build off and from your unique gifting and calling. Do not try to be someone else.

Its so much easier for people to want to copy someone else. To take the shortcuts. But to have long term results and to play at your very highest level you MUST DO THE HARD WORK of your own self discovery and find your unique message and story. There is no one else better than you to be YOU! And being you will get you the best results.

I said these 2 days will be hard work. No easy formulas. You will have to put in the work to get the outcomes and breakthroughs Im going to demand

2. We Learn by Doing!

Learning alone is OVERRATED! Action and Results are the only measuring stick we will use. Do not take notes so you can use this stuff a year from now. You must apply everything we are working on NOW, Today! So even if you don’t want a product or a book, for these 2 days you must play full out as if you did. (Never learn for learning sake. Always make sure all your learning is being immediately invested into action!) When you Play Full Out breakthroughs happen!

3. Its going to get worse before it gets better. 

Steven Covey said simplicity is the goal. But simplicity is only valuable on the other side of complexity.

Point is you must go wide first. Expand! Explore everything. Look at all the angles before you then narrow down and go deep.

I could have spent (and wasted) hours on exercises and feel good fluff. That would have filled in time and made people fell superficially satisfied. Instead we went wide first, looked at all the possibilities that are out there. We expanded our thinking and creativity and the possibilities. Now that doesn’t create immediate clarity. That requires work and self discovery. Pushing into the unknown, often times the risky, scary and vulnerable places. There were some fears and some tears. There was a lot of questioning the approach. But after all the questions and complexities we were able to then zoom into the core issues and questions.

4. Then the mechanics and the frameworks

After you have gone wide then you can better discover the answers. The book or product you will create. Its purpose and the audience you will serve. Its strategic purpose. And eventually visualizing the world class place you see yourself 3 years from now.

That was a day and half process. Before lunch on day 2 we went around the room and 27 out of 27 people shared with such clarity and passion their project, their purpose and unique audience they want to serve and the overview of their content. By the end of the day everyones purpose, title and chapters outlines were complete. Add to that timelines and accountability. Out of 27 people I received 27 amazing testimonials (see a sampling at the end).

If you want a breakthrough, you must go wide first and expand. Dive into the complexities. Look at all the possibilities. Don’t borrow someone else’s solution as your own. Seek and get opinions. Research. Ask. But then do the work yourself to find your own unique answers. That’s where the miracles and breakthroughs are to be discovered.
